I see clients for individual counselling online and in Chichester, Portsmouth and Westbourne. Please see my locations page for more details.
Counselling is a talking therapy that allows you to speak about your problems and feelings in a confidential and supportive environment so that you can move toward living a more fulfilling and meaningful life. Our therapeutic relationship is central to the effectiveness of your counselling, therefore, if you decide that you would like to undertake some counselling with me we would arrange to meet for an initial session/assessment.
This session is an important part of the counselling process as it will give you the opportunity to tell me more about the issues which are bringing you into counselling and what you hope to gain from the counselling. It would also give you the opportunity to see how we would work together and for you to see if you feel comfortable working with me.
In this initial session we can also discuss how many sessions you would like or whether you would like your counselling to be open ended and for this to be reviewed as our work together progresses.
Please note that online counselling is not appropriate if you are in acute distress. In this case I recommend that you contact:
- your GP
- your local A&E department
- The Samaritans: tel UK 116 123 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
